 Myth BUSTER:

Myth: South County NEEDs More Parks

Fact: South County will have 103,144 acres of park including Irvine Ranch (11,000 acres), Viejo Ranch(14,000 acres),  while North Orange County has 8,035 acres of Park ... and they want ANOTHER PARK???  And who is going to PAY for it?

North Orange County- 249 people per acre of Park

South Orange County- 6 people per Acre of Park

Myth BUSTER:

Myth: El Toro Airport is NOT Safe...

Fact: El Toro Airport is SAFE, according to the FAA.

Myth Buster :

Myth: Having an El Toro Airport will increase Terrorism

Fact: Terrorism can strike you Anywhere- even in YOUR HOME. The New El Toro airport can give us defense against terrorism and can be the SAFEST AIRPORT in the WORLD, since it will be built with SAFETY in mind, that no other airport can match. El Toro's Multiple Long Runways can land Anything, while John Wayne's cannot, in case of Any Emergency in Orange County.

Myth Buster :

ETRPA made Mountains out of Low Hills ..Miles from El Toro

Mythbuster:

"What Could Happen if there is No El Toro Air-park?"

Fact: Click for Large Image of El Toro moved to John Wayne

El Toro has an 18,000 acres of buffer zone with no homes or schools. The only buffer zone for John Wayne are the cities of Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Santa Ana  and yes, Irvine. This includes thousands of homes and dozens and dozens of schools.

Myth Buster :
"Orange County Only proposes an Airport at El Toro"

Fact: The County's proposed plan includes Open Space greater than Central Park and Balboa Park combined plus an Airport for a growing Orange County.  About 54% of the 4,700 acres in the Air-Park will be for Open space uses which include a Wildlife Habitat, Regional parks, golf courses, hiking and equestrian trails, etc.   Central Park is 843 acres. Balboa Park is 1,200 acres.  You can put both Central Park and Balboa Park into the land available in addition to Airport. You can have BOTH!

MythBuster :

"Orange County NEEDS a GREAT Park located at El Toro"

Fact: Summary of Parks:

South Orange County     103,144 acres

North Orange County      8, 035 acres

With almost 10 times the parks and open space as North County residents, South County wants to add El Toro's 4,700 acres to the mix.

South County has 8 of the 10 Largest Orange County Parks.

The County's  El Toro  plan sets aside 54%  of the base for recreational uses (like a big Park).

-- And there is only one place to put another Airport to meet the growing demands of Orange County, yes, El Toro.

Mythbuster:
